Vassili becomes a successful sniper and is created into a hero by Danilov. They become friends but the friendship is threatened by Tania (Rachel Weisz), a Russian soldier. Meanwhile the Germans realising Vassili is a threat bring in their own expert marksman Major Konig (Ed Harris) and the war becomes a much more personal struggle for victory between the two snipers and shapes the outcome of the battle for Stalingrad. |
