Synopsis

Stanley Phillips (John Cusack) had always yearned for a military career but his poor eyesight ended that dream. It's his wife Grace (Dana Lynne Gilhooley) who's in military service and currently a Sergeant away fighting in Iraq.

Instead Stanley, who works in a local home supply store, is keeping the family together raising his two daughters, Heidi (Shélan O'Keefe) now 12 and 8 year-old Dawn (Gracie Bednarczyk). But when tragedy strikes Stanley can’t face telling his children and delays the inevitable by embarking on a spontaneous road trip.

Heading for Dawn's choice - Enchanted Gardens Theme Park - Stanley is aware that the closer they drive to their destination, the closer his daughters lives will be changed forever on the sad news he has to tell them.
