Her sons, Tim (Khan Chittenden) and his intellectually disabled brother Mark (Richard Wilson), inhabit a household where chaos is the norm. Their father (Frankie J Holden), who has his now long forgotten break 25 years earlier, works as a security guard and hopes for another break. However the fragile infrastructure of family life in this household is suddenly threatened when Tim meets and falls for gorgeous Jill (Emma Booth). His mum fears that this interloper will "break up" the family, and what was never exactly a stable home environment becomes a combat zone where the two women lock horns for his affections. Directed by Cherie Nowlan (THANK GOD HE MET LIZZIE, MARKING TIME, SMALL CLAIMS) INTRODUCING THE DWIGHTS is a heart felt comedy about a mother who tries to come between her son and his coming of age. It stars Golden Globe®-winning actress Brenda Blethyn (SAVING GRACE, LITTLE VOICE, SECRETS AND LIES, LOVELY AND AMAZING and PRIDE AND PREJUDICE) and also features two of Australia’s fastest rising stars, Khan Chittenden (THE CATERPILLAR WISH and WEST) and Emma Booth (SHARK NET). The fine ensemble cast includes Australians Richard Wilson, Frankie J Holden, Rebecca Gibney, Philip Quast, Katie Wall and Russell Dykstra. |
