Synopsis

JUST ANOTHER LOVE STORY carries a deceptive title making a pun on the quintessential fairy tale romance. Instead it works as a fascinating thriller and creates a classic example of film noir. The story zigzags between austere realism and surreal gore, taking the viewer on an emotional journey encapsulating a lifetime’s disappointment, pain, dire defeats, audacious hopes and despairing lies.

Jonas (Anders W Berthelsen) is living the perfect life complete with a loving wife, Mette (Charlotte Fich), two kids and a house in the suburbs. The only twist to this domestic bliss is his grizzly occupation as a crime scene photographer, detailing gruesome murder scenes and bloody massacres.

When Jonas inadvertently causes a young woman, Julia (Rebecka Hemse) to crash her car, his life becomes unexpectedly linked with hers. Blind (physically and mentally) and with no memory of her former life, Julia is
deceived into believing Jonas is her lover. As a result Jonas deserts his fairytale existence to completely assume his new role as the love of Julia’s life, while her real true lover, presumed dead, is back to wreck havoc on Jonas’s new lie.
