Catherine Tatr plays Dorothy Ratcliffe, who supports her husband, Frank (Ian Glen), in his desire to move his family to live under the communist constraints of East Germany. Accompanied by their two daughters, rebellious teenager Alex (Brittany Ashworth) and 12 year old Mary (Jessica Barden) as well as eccentric brother-in-law Phillip (Nigel Betts), the family face the hardship and restricted conditions of their new life. It's here that Dorothy discovers an inner strength while protecting her family that enables her to assist others defecting to the west including devising a plan for her family to escape in her very own revolution. |
