Synopsis

In LE PETIT LIEUTENANT, Antoine Derouère (Jalil Lespert), an ambitious, young policeman from the provinces joins a plainclothes crime unit in Paris.

Eager for action and socialising with his fellow detectives in the team, he develops an unlikely relationship with his superior officer, Commandant Caroline "Caro" Vaudieu (Nathalie Baya) who has a troubled past.

Called to investigate the discovery of a body found by the River Seine, the routine case of this murdered drifter suddenly turns violent and changes all their lives forever.

Directed by Xavier Beauvois, LE PETIT LIEUTENANT was the Winner of the Label Europa Prize at the 2006 Venice Film Festival and Winner of the Cesar Award for Best Actress, Nathalie Baye.
