However, the once ordered society the monks are accustomed to changes dramatically, when one of the monks Anselm, sees the angel Gabriel. His fellow brethren doubt this revelation and instead Father Frederick suspects that Anselm is trying to cover up a homosexual dalliance. He confines Anselm to a locked cell to reflect and pray for guidance. His prayers are answered with a miracle: Anselm turns into a woman and finds that he is pregnant! |
