Synopsis

Such is the state of Tunisian film-making that it's taken six years for director Moufida Tlatli to produce this follow-up to her highly acclaimed SILENCES OF THE PALACE. But the wait has been worth while. Expanding on the themes of SILENCES OF THE PALACE, Tlatli has produced a vivid and beautifully wrought film which portrays the lives of three generations of women expected to keep house on the island of Djerba whilst their men are away working in Tunis.
