This story is about Marda, a motorcycle courier who becomes obsessed with a beautiful young girl named Moudan. He falls in love with her but then attempts to kidnap her and extort money from her wealthy father. However Moudan jumps into the murky waters of the Suzhou River and disappears. On his release after spending three years in jail he meets MeiMei, who looks identical to Moudan. Is it Moudan or not? SUZHOU RIVER is an action / thriller from director Ye Lou and is reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock's 'Vertigo'. |
