Synopsis

Jimmy Grimble (Lewis McKenzie) is a shy school boy who dreams of being on the school football team. Life looks bleak for him since he is bullied at school and he dislikes the boyfriend his mother (Gina McKee) is dating. Against all the odds with the football team bullying him and an unhelpful PE teacher (Robert Carlyle), an elderly woman (Jane Lapotaire) gives him the boost he needs to find the strength and confidence within himself to succeed at a crucial football match.
